And I was incredibly lucky today to get the chance to chat up everyone. Tomas Marquez let me know that Plant will be working the “punch list” of remaining work items through this month and possibly into November. Albert from Bagatellos Architectural Glass Systems was back today to finish up some items, and he was gracious enough to have a long chat with me — and I learned several NEW fascinating items about the building, including the fact that several windows on the Minna Street side, high up on the west-most vertical row (would be opposite the open stairwell on the south side) were not able to be replaced since there is a BRICK WALL behind them. They are completely sealed off, presumably since the building was first constructed ! And lastly, I had a chance encounter with Chris Meany at the corner of New Montgomery and Minna, and was able to thank him for helping bring our beautiful old building back to life, despite the impacts of the recession and the extensive costs and issues related to the required work. Thanks so very much to Chris Meany.
