in580 California Street is an attractive highrise building in the Financial District. I really like the style of this building, including some beautiful hanging light fixtures at ground level.
But I am always a big frightened by the ghosts that can be see on the building, particularly after dark !

inThe Harrigan Weidenmuller building was erected in 1927, designed in the Baroque style. A beautiful old building, now with a modern day use — a nail salon.

inLook familiar ? It was used in the movie “The Towering Inferno”. It is often called the most beautiful highrise in San Francisco.
It was the world headquarters for Bank of America, before the horribly unfortunate merger with NationsBank. The headquarters then moved to Charlotte, North Carolina.
In the lobby, there is a wonderful historical exhibit depicting the history of the bank, including their backing of many iconic local ventures, such as the Golden Gate Bridge and Disneyland, as well as their heroic recovery after the 1906 earthquake and fire. Unfortunately, it has now been polluted by some ridiculous and inconsequential items related to NationsBank’s history.
Masayuki Nagare’s sculpture “Transcendence” – but often referred to as “Banker’s Heart”.

inA stroll around the neighborhood, and we happen upon the very slim 130 Bush Street, one of the “20-foot-wides” found in the Financial District.
The former H. M. Heineman Building, it started life as a necktie, belt and suspender factory. It was built in 1910, designed by MacDonald and Applegarth, in the Gothic style.
