Posted Natoma Street Blues
inThis corner of Natoma and Second Street will hopefully remain the same — and perhaps be even more beautful — when the new Transbay Center opens.
Although the 3 buildings on Second Street between Natoma and Howard streets will be demolished to accommodate the DTX tunnel underneath them, this building (and the others) on Second Street between Minna and Natoma Streets will remain. And from this corner, a new pedestrian lane will emerge, with a new street-level open space on top of the DTX tunnel curve on the opposite corner.
Hopefully, this lovely old masonry building will remain, with a cozy cafe at the street level as is the case today. And let’s hope these incredibly tough and resiliant street trees remain just as beautiful as they are here.
