inAfter the Maevo Building and the Gruen, Greun+Associates Buildings came down (preceded by the Steel Arc, Zebulon, and Varnish Buildings), this area between Natoma and Howard Streets was prepared for the archaeological dig. They indeed did find some “privies” in the area that would have been the “backyards” of old residences on these streets, and many artifacts were found. So interesting ! More about this later.

inSpeciality’s just opened a new store at 500 Howard Street in one of the Foundry Square buildings. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful !
After a visit to the site, I stopped off for a coffee and cookie, and discovered that they have been open for about 1 month now (at this location). There were some guys there working on programming their menu boards to include some interesting display effects, which was very interesting. But the best thing about their decor is the fact that they both included old photographs of the Transbay Terminal and surrounding area, as well as a brick wall on one side of the shop, to evoke the look and feel of this old working class neighborhood and its many masonry buildings.
Definitely a great place to rest our feet, chat, and compare notes during site club meetings. Not to mention that ALL of their food and drinks are excellent !
